With spring just around the corner, you may have your eye on bigger objectives once snowpack conditions stabilize and are looking for female adventure partners to do it with. Dust off your crampons and prepare to tackle those couloirs and bag more summits by taking an intermediate or advanced backcountry skills clinic led by highly accomplished women in the backcountry.  Whether you’re a skier or splitboarder, beginner or intermediate - we’ve got something to help you start crossing off that big objective bucket list. These clinics will teach you how to use crampons, ice axes, and tips for traveling through steeper terrain. Be sure to stick around after your clinic to enjoy a cold bevie and bbq hosted by Bluebird Backcountry!

About the Instructors

Brittany Konsella: Originally born in Ohio, Brittany Konsella grew up loving skiing in Ohio and beyond. While attending CU Boulder, she began competing in Freestyle Skiing, which lasted for 6 years. Afterwards, she coached at the Winter Park Competition Center, meanwhile starting her new passion for backcountry skiing. From 2006 to 2011, Brittany became the 2nd woman to ski all of Colorado's 14ers, documented on her blog 14erskiers.com. Brittany's need for backcountry ski projects was furthered when she coauthored Backcountry Ski and Snowboard Routes: Colorado, published in 2017, along with her husband, Frank. She now continues to share her passion for backcountry skiing by instructing enthusiasts at Bluebird Backcountry.

Erika Lee: Erika grew up in the Sierra Nevada and has always felt the most at home when in the mountains and on skis. After working in the outdoor education industry for 5 years, she now focuses her energy on snow-specific education. This is Erika’s 2nd year working at Bluebird Backcountry as an AIARE instructor, with a side gig as Curriculum Developer for their backcountry education program.
