Skiing under the moonlight is a magical experience and that's why we're offering a full moon ski tour at Bluebird. The next full moon rises on March 27th. Join a small group of adventurous souls on a short ski tour up the West Bowl under the sunset and catch the rising of the full moon. We'll have some hot beverages to keep you toasty while we enjoy the views. Then, we'll enjoy some turns down the West Bowl lead by the light of the moon.
Enjoy a fire and hot beverages at the base after our tour and check out the night sky by telescope.
Participants will need to be familiar with their backcountry gear and comfortable skiing in the backcountry. They will also need to carry a beacon, shovel and probe and a headlamp.
This event will last approximately 2 hours. We will leave the base area promptly at 5:00pm in order to catch the moon rise from the best vantage point. Please arrive at 4:45pm to get checked in and ready to ski.
In the event of bad weather this event may be rescheduled to Sunday, March 28th. We will notify participants 48 hours in advance with a weather report and confirmation of the event. Refunds will be issued if you are unable to make the rescheduled date.
*You do not need to purchase a day pass if you do not plan on skiing during the day. If you plan on skiing Bluebird during the day and want to attend Full Moon tour, you will need to purchase a day pass as well.
